Is it legal to hunt in city limits?

Our new mole hill.

Mole or Gopher? I dunno.

Aww, so cute.

Kodie and Missy thought we should name it Kodeler since we aren't sure if it's a boy or a girl.

So as you all know, if you've been reading this blog, we have a mole problem. Not the little brown spots that appear on your skin and can be somewhat unsightly at times, bit the furry little critters that like to tear up your yard. Jason and Chandler had a stake priesthood meeting at 5:00 tonight and when they got outside we had a new mole hole in the lawn! Yes, a new one as opposed to the 5 buzillion other ones we already have. It wasn't there when we got home from church at 3:30. Chandler actually saw it poke it's head up out of the hole. Jason dumped some poison pellets in the hole and then they had to leave. I was chatting with my sissy, Missy (tee-hee for my great rhyme!) and had to leave her hanging while I got out the camera to shoot a few photo's. I was really wanting to shoot a few bullets at the darn thing, but figured the police just wouldn't be very understanding about hunting within city limits. The mole (it actually looks like a gopher to me!?!) came up a number of times pushing the poison back out of the hole. I got out the shovel and waited to try and bop it on the head (you know, like the field mice that Little Bunny Foo-Foo would go hopping through the forest after). It really is a smart creature, because as soon as I had the shovel in hand it didn't come back up. Grrrr. I think we'll have our work cut out for us this spring, trying to fix the lawn.

I totally look like a super hero that has a shovel as a weapon!

Dat-Da-Da Shovel Girl!

Jason borrowed a roto-tiller to get our garden spot ready before the snow came. He spent more time working on the tiller that he did on the ground. The kids spent an afternoon digging up blocks that were planted in the original garden spot so we can move them. Who plants cinder blocks? They got them all out of the ground so we can plant a few fruit tree's back in that corner now.

Memories of Beeville. I have had this Trojans shirt for a while and decided it was time to pass it on. Sniff sniff, wipe a tear. For those of you that have lived or are living (Chris and Falene) the Beeville experience, remember the great football games? The people in Texas are CRAZY about football (among other things ... BBQ, breakfast tacos and the Cowboys ...) and their games are so fun to attend. Even if you don't understand the game of football. Definitely worth taking in if you're ever on the Lone Star State.

We are getting excited for Thanksgiving (Jason and the kids for the food, me 'cause I get to FINALLY put up the Christmas tree! Yippee!) Also for the Black Friday shopping, girls get your tennies warmed up, and for our first official Gibb Girls Weekend in Idaho. Lara, we will be thinking of you and are excited for next year with you joining us, it won't be the same without you this year.

Our new "weeds" as Kodie calls them above the pantry.

We woke up Saturday morning to the fluffy stuff!

We are very festive with our decorations. I had to really zoom so you could see how festive we are!

On of the other mole holes.

Lol. I saw that Trojan shirt, and I was like "that looks like a Trojan shirt". lol Go Trojans! Not very good this year though. Missed the playoffs.

But he so cute. Like I tell Branden, I don't want to see it killed. Just bring it wrapped up like it came from the supermarket. You and Branden can be clueless together at football games. I still have to tell him what some plays are. Sad huh. My big burly guy doesn't know football and is afraid of lizards, frog and snakes. Pathetic! (Ok maybe I'm afraid of snakes too.)

Okay you know I much I love ALL furry critters, so it pains me to pass along this info. However, that guy looks suspiciously like the gophers Greg and I tried for an entire summer to get rid of in our Boise home. We finally found a metal trap that farm equipment stores sell that sits right at the top of the hole--and very effectively clamps down when they come out. Gruesome? Yes. But it worked!
