Time sure flies when summer finally comes! We got the old deck hauled away a couple weekends ago. Our friend, Bryan Arndt, wanted it for firewood for their cabin, so he and Ashton came over Friday night and we loaded it into a trailer. Kodie is a really good little worker and out-worked the boys!
We got it done pretty quick and had only one casualty. It was the Arndts flower bed, I tried to back the truck up to the trailer and miss aimed where I was going. Whoops!
I wanted to update the kids pictures for my living room, so we went over to a friends house, they have a great back yard, and did a photo shoot. Here are my favorites...
Chandler and the bike
Cute little Eddy. I love the scab on his knee! Such a boy thing!
Kodies pretty eyes!
We have passes for 7 Peaks Waterslides this summer. We have been spending Fridays there. The kids slide and I do my homework. It's been fun for them and nice for me to be outside.
On our way to the water slides yesterday there was a road closed and we had to detour. Low and behold we ended up going right by the Re-Store! The truck just turned in and I knew that The Fates must want me to go inside and see what they had!! Well, wouldn't you know, they had just got this fabulous chair and hadn't even marked it. I asked how much they were asking and she said $30 but all their furniture was on sale (that's right, on SALE at a thrift store ... even better for me) and it was only $15. So I snatched that baby right up. I got this great vinyl at Joannes for only $3 per yard. They were have a clearance sale on their clearance stuff! (What can I say, it was my day for deals!) I grabbed a couple buttons and headed home to paint and sew.
I had black paint at home from previous projects, so that was no expense. The chair was $15, the vinyl $6 and the buttons were $2.50. I reused the zipper from the original cover so that was no expense as well. My really cute front porch chair, that swivels AND rocks cost .... $23.50!!! What a fun project and I think it makes the front of the house look great!
Cute pattern on the vinyl.
TaDa!!!
