Mom and Dad came down to help us with the house. We are so glad they came. Jason and I were very overwhelmed at all the projects that we need to do. When they pulled up late Wednesday night I started crying. You know, the "mom effect". They started working Thursday morning. I couldn't believe how much work was done when I got home from work! We were up late working, then up early Friday to start again. We had fun choosing paint colors. I dug out the quilt Grandma
Hough made and all my curtains and pillow stuff. I was so excited to see it all again. It's better than Christmas morning! I chose a brown color that looks like chocolate milk called toffee crunch and a rusty color called Cinnamon Brandy. I had a few paint cans
from when we did our house in Arizona. We had bought some orange paint to paint some furniture and decided it was TOO orange. I ran across it this afternoon and the color name was ... cinnamon brandy! We couldn't believe we pick the exact same color. It looks great on the wall! Jason was off today and we all worked really hard.
Jason's brother Ron and his family came over for a bit. It was really nice to have a really tall guy around. He was able to paint way up high! So, for those of you that haven't heard, the house we bought was full of cat hair. Black cat hair. It's EVERYWHERE! We have been cleaning and cleaning, trying to get it all cleaned up. I came home from running
Kodie to her soccer game and saw mom holding this ...

I was grossing out over such a big clump of cat hair and the I realized that it wasn't cat hair ...
It was DAD hair!!

Dad fell and somehow managed to scalp himself. The bald spot is about the size of a L
oonie (sorry A
mericans, I don't know what coin size that relates to for you) and there is absolutely no hair. You can see around the edge that the skin is peeled back around the individual hairs and I'm sure that the bald spot will be a little bigger before it's all over. I spent a little time cleaning him up and devising a bandage that would cover it up without having to shave off anymore. The kids thought he looked like the Karate Kid! I had a little accident shortly after the scalping incident. I was up on a kitchen stool painting and fell off backwards.
Somehow I missed hitting the wall of wet paint behind me, but hit the window ledge really hard with my derriere. My right cheek charlie horsed so bad I couldn't stand up for a half a minute. I asked
Kodie if she would give it a massage and she just looked at me like I was crazy. I don't blame her. We got
a lot accomplished and the house is looking so much better. We are all so excited to hit the hay tonight!
