We started working on the house this weekend. We started by scrubbing the kitchen. That took quite a while. The previous owners must have had a black cat. There was cat hair everywhere! It was disgusting. We had to do a little work on the toilets. That was my #1 priority. One toilet was clogged and the other was cracked. We bought new toilets at the home depot. They both have a flush performance rating of 10, which is the highest. That means that you can flush alot with minimal clogging! Good to know!! We pulled out the old toilets and got the new ones on. Jason had Chandler do alot of the installation on the basement toilet. It was pretty fun watching them work together. Chandler was excited to get the handle put on, after all "handle" is his middle name. Actually, it's the middle part of his first name! While the boys worked on the bathroom, Kodie and I pulled off baseboards. We only had one injury. Kodie knelt on a baseboard and the nail that was sticking up went into her knee. She was really upset. After I pulled the board out of her knee, we cleaned up the wound and applied a band-aid. Good thing I knew first aid! We pulled out all the carpet and pad and hauled it down to the dump. The signs at the dump were pretty funny. I guess they want to keep you entertained while your waiting in line! We went back to the house and pulled staples out of the floor and vacuumed all the dirt up. We were SO tired!
