Back to School

Summer sure went by fast! The kids are back in school. They both started new school due to our move at the end of last school year. Kodie is at Altera Elementary. It's right down the block and she is enjoying walking to school. This is the first year she's been able to do that. She walks every morning with the girls that live in our circle. Her schools mascot is the Kittyhawks. Their mascot is a kitten with hawk wings! A little cheesy, but she seems happy about it! Her teacher is Mrs. Easter! The kids have had fun with that name. She is already making friends and was pleased to be chosen as the class foreman for the first week. This allows her to run to the office for Mrs. Easter, monitor the room when the teacher is out, and do any other special task assigned. Chandler started Indian Hills Middle School. He is liking it so far. He was pretty excited when he figured out how to open his locker and find his classrooms. He is carpooling with a few kids from the neighborhood. He also is starting to make new friends. He has had a hard time hearing and we had his hearing tested last Tuesday. He has fluid in his ears and is waiting for his appointment with the E.N.T. to see about tubes again!! This has made his first few day of Jr. High a little more challenging, but we are hoping to have this problem resolved soon and get him back to not listening instead of not hearing!!
