So, the kids are spending a substantial portion of the summer in Canada with my sister Missy and her family. We were up there a week ago for a reunion and sight seeing, then left them in Red Deer for a few weeks. It's been kind of fun being kid-less, but also kind of boring. I've certainly missed my playmates the last week! So I was planning on getting the rest of the piddly stuff done on the house so we can finally decorate and put up pictures. Jason had another plan in mind. He surprised me with a fun weekend that he planned. Our fun weekend started with a day at Lagoon. The last time I went to Lagoon was when I was about 5. Aunt Jan took us there, I think it was when dad was in the hospital in Calgary, and I only remember riding the Mouse trap and the Colossus. They have a bunch more rides and water slides now. We spent the whole day riding and sliding and came home exhausted. Saturday we headed up to Logan. Jason had book a bed and breakfast for us at the Providence Inn. It's an old historic building that they made into the bed and breakfast. We hiked up to the wind caves, which was really cool, but a long hike -- Llng enough for me to start at Big Business with Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin and make it back 6 degrees to Kevin Bacon in Flatliners! We came upon a rattle snake sunning itself on a rock. We scared it about as much as it scared us (me)! It was about 2 feet long. I've never been that close to one in the wild. Yikes! We had a nice supper at a fun restaurant then drove around Logan. It is such a nice city. We saw the temple and the tabernacle. Our breakfast was delicious and we left shortly before lunch. We drove to Bear Lake and enjoyed the fresh air and beautiful scenery. After arriving home, we phoned the kids. They are having a blast with the Sharpes. Missy is keeping them busy. I am excited for them to come home in a couple weeks. I have a great hubby, who planned a great weekend. Thanks Big Guy!! This week ... all the chores we skipped out on!!
Wow, Jason was romatic. I would say for him to give Branden lessons, but that could be scary. I can't believe you've seen a snake in the wild and I haven't (rattler that is). I'm ok with that though. Miss you guys.
